Mom said Dad said he hoped she would die before him. If there were a word to say, “I’ll bury you,” in the way that he meant it, it would have been a declaration of his hope that he would die after her because he loved her so much (and had such confidence in her love for him) that he wanted to spare her the difficulty of living without him.
